How to Apply Asian Paints SmartCare Damp Sheath Exterior?
Application on Vertical Walls
Step One: Surface Preparation
- Allow new masonry surfaces to cure for 28 days.
- Use brushes, vacuum cleaners, or a high-pressure water jet to clean the surface, removing dust, grease, and old paint.
- Fill small cracks (up to 3 mm) with SmartCare Crack Seal and larger cracks (up to 10 mm) with SmartCare Textured Crack Filler.
Step Two: Priming
Apply one self-priming coat of Damp Sheath Exterior diluted with 10% water using a brush or roller at a coverage of 90 sq. ft./ltr. Allow drying for at least 4 hours.
Step Three: Topcoat Application
- Apply one undiluted coat of Damp Sheath Exterior at the same coverage ratio.
- Follow this by applying two coats of any Asian Paints Exterior Emulsion for a polished, weather-resistant finish.
Application on Horizontal Surfaces/Terraces
Step One: Surface Preparation
Ensure proper surface cleaning and fill cracks as per the vertical application procedure. Make sure the roof has a drainage system to prevent water stagnation.
Step Two: Priming
Apply one self-priming coat of Damp Sheath Exterior diluted with a 3:1 water ratio. Cover 55 sq. ft./ltr and allow drying for 3–4 hours.
Step Three: Topcoat Application
- Apply two undiluted coats at a coverage of 37 sq. ft./ltr per coat. The overall forced coverage is 15 sq. ft./ltr.
- Ensure application on the entire roof including parapet walls to form a uniform waterproof barrier.
